My first impression walking into Vega Caffe was how welcoming the atmosphere felt. It’s clearly designed to be a simple, comfortable café where people can slow down and enjoy their food. The casual setting makes it approachable for everyone-from locals grabbing a quick breakfast before work to friends meeting up for a relaxed morning meal. It’s the type of menu where you know you’ll find something that fits your mood, whether you’re in the mood for a light start to the day or a more hearty breakfast plate. Comfort food is clearly the heart of the kitchen, and that focus makes the dining experience feel genuine and straightforward.

One detail that stands out is how practical and customer-friendly the service feels. Vega Caffe accepts credit cards, which makes paying simple and convenient, especially for regular customers who stop by often. Small conveniences like that matter in a neighborhood café, and it helps keep the experience smooth and relaxed from start to finish.

Another thing that shapes the experience here is the balance between the café’s casual atmosphere and its reliable service. Staff members keep things moving without making the space feel hurried. That balance works well for a café environment where people might be catching up with friends, enjoying breakfast, or just taking a quiet break.

Location also plays a role in the appeal. Being situated on Roll Drive makes Vega Caffe an accessible stop for locals and visitors exploring the area. What customers say?

“ Clean and quick service. The bread in the Cubano torta was perfection. The combo comes with a drink and a side. I chose the tortilla soup, though the soups rotate availability depending on the day. ”

“ I like this place. It's always fresh the people are nice. just a great food experience. ”

- Johnny Marquez -

“ I loved their Mango drink, but Should've gotten the Burrito instead of the sandwich. I hardly got any Beans, but plenty of ice berg lettuce,. Don't ever say your Vegan. You'll be treated like a rabbit. I didn't get refried Beans initially, had to ask for them... Don't Starve Yourself! Be Healthy, but Stay Alive. Ladies Owner/Server was nice.. 15$ for a Salad sandwich . Ouch. ”

- Dave Triplett -

“ Best Tortas in San Diego. Decent pricing. Awesome hand made juices. ”

- Luxus Backup -

“ The food is great here, very well made. The service is fast even on a busy day on lunch time. It's not an expensive establishment and the way they treat their customers is extremely friendly and kind. I've come to befriend them and they are very down to earth people. The place might need a bit of retouching inside, never the less I highly recommend you try their food, especially the Ortega Chicken Sandwich. It's made with grilled chicken and a slice of Anaheim pepper, plus lettuce, tomatoes and which ever addition you might want like avocado, etc. They have a variety of options in their menu that you must try at least once. ”

“ The tortilla soup is my favorite. I have been going to Vega cafe for more than a decade ”

- Irene Solano -
